Chocolate Chip Pancakes with Chestnut flour ( gluten free, vegan, sugar free )

So it’s Sunday and for many people that means PANCAKES! Pancakes are easy and fun to make and you can put almost anything in them. You can make savory or sweet pancakes depending on your cravings.

I guess one of the most popular of them all is CHOCOLATE CHIP pancakes however. My pancakes are great for those who love this classic breakfast but don’t want make them in traditional way but using healthy ingredients that will only make you feel good. Yes, they look like the most sinful pancakes ever but there are actually none ingredient that ¬†doesn’t go under the category of health food.


I love that the range of gluten free flours available keeps increasing all the time. At least I feel like it. I love trying everything new in my kitchen because it only keeps me motivated and helps me create new recipes. I also feel that gluten free life has offered me a more healthy way of living. I don’t have to make decisions about my eating because my body has already made it on behalf of me.

Here’s a few positive and health supporting facts about my chocolate pancakes:

They are

  1. sugar free
  2. rich in fiber
  3. glutenfree
  4. dairy free
  5. guilt free
  6. scrumptious
  7. easy-peasy
  8. super- delicious
  9. healthy


Dry ingredients


1/4 cup chestnut flour

1/4 cup teff flour

1/4 cup tapioca starch

1/4 cup almond flour

1/2 tsp sea salt

1 tsp baking powder

1/2 tsp baking soda

1 tbsp chia seeds

1/2 tsp vanilla bean powder

1/4 cup raw or vegan chocolate chips (sugar free )

1 1/2 tbsp psyllium


Wet ingredients


1 cup coconut or almond milk

2 tbsp coconut oil ( melted )

1 tbsp coconut nectar

1 tbsp apple cider vinegar or white vinegar




  1. mix dry ingredients with the wet ingredients
  2. let batter set for 10 min
  3. bake on low to medium heat in coconut oil or other fat of your choice


The chocolate sauce is made by melting some raw chocolate. I always have different kind of raw chocolates in my freezer so I just grabbed some and melted it in a kettle. You can find the raw chocolate recipe in sweet treats and desserts. You can also just use sugar free vegan chocolate or raw chocolate bar bought in store.
